Nanny/Family Assistant job (M/F) in Reykjavik, Iceland

The ideal candidate will be a naturally positive and dependable person who combines strong childcare experience with excellent organisational skills.

Essential / Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with children and within private family households.
• 10+ years of childcare or private family experience preferred.
• Excellent spoken English.
• Warm, patient, emotionally intelligent, and genuinely child-focused.
• Honest, discreet, and highly trustworthy.
• Proactive and able to work independently without constant direction.
• Energetic and physically active, with an enthusiasm for outdoor activities.
• Highly organised with excellent practical judgement and common sense.
• Flexible and comfortable adapting to changing family routines.
• Strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively with parents.
• Comfortable living and working in a busy family environment.
• Confident cyclist; experience with a cargo bike is advantageous, or willingness to learn.
• Non-smoker.
• Willing and able to travel regularly with the family.
• Comfortable undertaking a combination of childcare and household support.
• Able to make a long-term commitment to the position.

Additional Skills & Desirable Qualifications

The following would be advantageous:

• Full driving licence.
• Mandarin language skills.
• Scandinavian language skills.
• Formal childcare, teaching, education, or child-development experience.
• Knowledge or interest in mindfulness, wellbeing, or positive child development.
• Experience travelling internationally with families.
