A friendly British family living in Dubai Hills is seeking a seasoned, dependable and highly organised Live-Out Housekeeper / Cook to take ownership of the day-to-day management and presentation of their home.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that exceptional housekeeping goes beyond cleaning. The family is looking for a professional who can establish effective systems, anticipate what needs to be done, manage household supplies and keep the property consistently organised and guest-ready without requiring constant supervision.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in private homes, ideally 10 years or more, and will be confident independently managing housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe care, grocery organisation and family cooking.

Cooking is an important part of the position, with the successful candidate preparing around 70% of the family’s meals. The family enjoys Filipino cuisine and would particularly welcome someone comfortable preparing fresh, wholesome family-style dishes.

The household includes three young boys, aged 4, 2 and 18 months, together with a friendly Cockapoo. The Housekeeper / Cook should therefore be comfortable around both young children and dogs and happy to provide occasional support when needed.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Care

Maintain the residence to an exceptional standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation
Keep the home neat, orderly and ready to welcome guests at any time
Take ownership of day-to-day household organisation and identify areas requiring improvement
Establish practical systems for wardrobes, cupboards, drawers, pantry areas, bathrooms and linen storage
Source and arrange suitable storage solutions such as organisers, baskets and dividers when needed

Laundry & Wardrobe Management

Handle the complete laundry cycle, including washing, drying, ironing, folding and storage
Care appropriately for different fabrics and garments
Keep adult and children’s wardrobes organised and easy to manage
Monitor children’s clothing, identifying items that have been outgrown, damaged or need replacing
Rotate seasonal or less frequently used clothing as appropriate

Cooking & Food Management

Prepare approximately 70% of the family’s meals
Cook fresh, varied and nutritious everyday family meals
Prepare Filipino dishes as well as other family-style cuisine
Plan and manage grocery requirements
Shop for food and household necessities as required
Keep the fridge, freezer and pantry organised and well stocked
Maintain clear systems for children’s snacks, breakfast products, staples and other food supplies
Monitor food inventory and ensure essential items are replenished

Household Supplies

Keep track of cleaning products, toiletries, towels, linens and other domestic essentials
Anticipate upcoming requirements and arrange replenishment before supplies run out
Maintain an orderly and efficient storage system throughout the property

Family & Pet Support

Occasionally assist with the three young children when the family requires additional support
Accompany the family on occasional outings, such as soft-play activities
Work closely with the family’s nanny to ensure smooth household routines
Be comfortable around the family’s Cockapoo and assist with basic pet care when necessary

General Professional Duties

Work independently and identify priorities without needing continual direction
Use initiative to resolve household issues and improve existing systems
Maintain strict confidentiality and respect the family’s privacy
Present yourself professionally and contribute positively to the household team

Job Requirements

The family is seeking a mature and experienced household professional who takes genuine pride in their work and is capable of running their responsibilities independently.

The ideal candidate will have:

Extensive experience in private family homes, ideally 10+ years
Excellent housekeeping and deep-cleaning abilities
A meticulous eye for detail and high standards of presentation
Strong organisational and household-management skills
The ability to establish systems and work with minimal supervision
Excellent laundry, ironing and garment-care expertise
Strong everyday cooking skills and confidence preparing the majority of family meals
Experience with Filipino cuisine is highly desirable
Good knowledge of grocery purchasing, pantry organisation and household inventory management
A proactive, practical and solutions-oriented approach
Confidence occasionally assisting with young children
Comfort around dogs and willingness to help with basic pet care
A UAE driving licence is preferred, although not essential
Reliability, flexibility, maturity and a professional appearance
Exceptional discretion, honesty and respect for confidentiality
A genuine interest in securing a stable, long-term position
