Job Description

A private family based in the prestigious 6th arrondissement of Paris is looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Housekeeper / Domestic Assistant to ensure the impeccable maintenance of their residence while providing daily support with household organisation and meal preparation.

This is a long-term opportunity for a service-oriented professional who enjoys maintaining a beautifully presented home and preparing fresh, home-cooked meals.

The successful candidate will work independently, managing household tasks with efficiency, discretion, and attention to detail.

The position is available immediately under a permanent French employment contract (CDI).

Responsibilities

The Housekeeper / Domestic Assistant will be responsible for:

Maintaining the residence to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and organisation.
Carrying out daily housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, polishing, floor care and window cleaning.
Managing all laundry, ironing, folding and wardrobe organisation.
Monitoring household supplies and replenishing stock when required.
Running household errands, including visits to the dry cleaners, pharmacy, post office and local shops.
Preparing balanced, home-style meals, with a preference for French and Mediterranean cuisine.
Setting the table and providing informal meal service when required.
Receiving deliveries, parcels and service providers.
Keeping accurate records of household purchases and submitting expense reports.
Ensuring the home operates smoothly while maintaining complete confidentiality.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

At least five years of experience in a similar role within a private household.
Excellent housekeeping, laundry and organisational skills.
A genuine passion for cooking and preparing healthy family meals.
The ability to work independently and efficiently without close supervision.
A proactive, flexible and solution-oriented approach.
Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering consistently high standards.
Absolute discretion, professionalism and respect for the family’s privacy.
Fluency in French.
A valid driving licence would be considered an advantage.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: To be agreed with the employer

Salary

From €3,845 gross per month, depending on experience, qualifications and overall profile.
