A privately owned luxury chalet in Megève (Haute-Savoie) is seeking an experienced Housekeeper / House Manager to take full responsibility for the daily upkeep and smooth operation of the property.

This is a full-time, permanent role suited to a candidate with a strong background in high-end hospitality or chalet management, capable of maintaining exceptional standards in a refined Alpine environment.

The successful candidate will ensure the chalet remains consistently well presented, fully functional, and ready to welcome guests at any time, with a high level of attention to detail and discretion.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Property Maintenance

Manage all housekeeping duties to a high standard, including cleaning, polishing, and care of delicate finishes
Ensure the chalet is always maintained in impeccable condition, both during and between stays
Monitor equipment and installations, addressing any technical issues promptly

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

Oversee all laundry processes, including washing, ironing, folding, and wardrobe organisation
Maintain linens, garments, and household textiles in excellent condition

Household Coordination

Manage stock levels of cleaning supplies and household essentials
Coordinate deliveries, parcels, and day-to-day logistics
Liaise with external contractors and service providers when required

Guest Experience

Welcome guests and ensure their stay is smooth, comfortable, and aligned with high hospitality standards
Anticipate needs and provide discreet, attentive service
Handle errands such as dry cleaning, pharmacy runs, and local requests

Reporting

Provide regular updates to the employer regarding the condition of the property and any ongoing requirements

Job Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality or high-end chalet management.
Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
Strong service mindset with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience caring for high-end materials such as marble and brass.
Discreet, reliable, and respectful of confidentiality.
Flexible and adaptable, particularly during periods of occupancy.
Fluency in French and English is a plus.
Valid driving licence required.

Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Permanent (CDI), 35 hours per week

Salary

€3,850 gross per month, depending on experience
