Job Description

A private family based in Treillières, near Nantes in Loire-Atlantique (44), is looking for an experienced and reliable Multi-Purpose Housekeeper to take care of the day-to-day running and presentation of their main residence.

The position combines housekeeping, laundry, family-style cooking, errands and occasional pet care. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, taking initiative and adapting to the family’s needs while maintaining a consistently high standard throughout the home.

This is a part-time permanent position of 20 hours per week, with an immediate start.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Care

Maintain the cleanliness and overall presentation of the residence.
Carry out regular dusting, polishing, sweeping and general cleaning.
Keep living areas organised, neat and welcoming.
Pay attention to detail and ensure the home is consistently well maintained.

Laundry & Household Organisation

Manage the family’s laundry from washing through to ironing and putting clothes away.
Ensure linen and clothing are properly organised and cared for.
Monitor household supplies and communicate any replenishment requirements.
Receive parcels and deliveries on behalf of the family.
Welcome and coordinate access for household service providers when required.

Cooking & Supplies

Prepare fresh, balanced and varied family meals when requested.
Take responsibility for basic meal planning according to the family’s preferences.
Monitor food stocks and household provisions.
Purchase groceries and other necessary supplies.
Keep the employer informed regarding purchases and household requirements.

Errands & Pet Care

Carry out occasional personal and household errands, including visits to the dry cleaner, post office, florist and pharmacy.
Assist with other local errands as required.
Provide occasional care for the family’s two small dogs, including when the family requires additional support.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a private household and will be able to manage a varied range of responsibilities with minimal supervision.

The family is looking for someone who is:

Experienced, with at least 3 years in a comparable household position.
Reliable, autonomous and well organised.
Methodical and attentive to detail.
Comfortable taking initiative and managing daily priorities independently.
Naturally service-minded and responsible.
Genuinely interested in cooking and comfortable preparing family meals.
At ease working within a private family environment.
Comfortable around pets, particularly small dogs.
Respectful of the family’s privacy and committed to complete discretion.
Fluent in French.
In possession of a valid driving licence.

Working Conditions

Position: Multi-Purpose Housekeeper
Location: Treillières, near Nantes, Loire-Atlantique (44)
Contract: Permanent, part-time (CDI)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Start date: As soon as possible

Salary

€17–€20 gross per hour, depending on experience and profile
