Job Description

A prestigious UHNW private residence in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced and highly polished Housekeeper to join its household team.

This is a hands-on position for an individual who takes pride in maintaining an immaculate home and understands the level of care, discretion, and attention to detail required within a private residence of the highest standard.

Working under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeper will be responsible for the daily presentation and upkeep of the residence, including detailed cleaning, laundry and wardrobe care, household organization, and preparation for the Principal, family, and guests.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a UHNW private household, luxury hotel, or similarly demanding environment and will be comfortable adapting to changing schedules and last-minute requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintain impeccable cleanliness throughout bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, guest areas, and other areas of the residence
Perform both daily housekeeping and detailed deep-cleaning duties according to the property’s standards
Care for luxury linens, fine fabrics, garments, and delicate personal items, including washing, ironing, steaming, and appropriate finishing
Ensure wardrobes, rooms, closets, and household areas remain orderly, organized, and fully prepared for use
Prepare guest rooms and the residence ahead of arrivals, visits, entertaining, and special occasions
Handle fine furnishings, delicate surfaces, artwork, decorative objects, and high-quality finishes with appropriate care
Monitor household supplies and communicate replenishment requirements to the Housekeeping Manager
Coordinate or assist with dry cleaning, laundry services, errands, and other household-related tasks
Prepare and organize personal items for the Principal and guests, including travel, swimming, sporting, and activity bags
Respond positively to changes in the household schedule and accommodate occasional last-minute requests
Anticipate the needs of the residence and proactively address areas requiring attention
Work seamlessly alongside other household employees and assist colleagues when required
Maintain absolute discretion regarding the Principal, family, guests, residence, and all household activities

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will be an experienced private service professional who understands the importance of consistency, discretion, and impeccable presentation.

Previous experience within a UHNW private residence, luxury hotel, private club, yacht, or comparable high-service environment is highly valued.

Experience caring for fine garments, luxury linens, delicate furnishings, and high-value household items
A positive and collaborative approach to working as part of a larger household team
Strong communication skills and a service-oriented attitude
The ability to work independently while remaining closely aligned with the Housekeeping Manager and wider team
Flexibility and willingness to assist with reasonable household tasks outside the standard daily routine

This is a hands-on, non-managerial position with no direct reports.

Position: Full-time, on-site
Reporting to: Housekeeping Manager
Flexibility required to accommodate changing household schedules and last-minute requests
Additional flexibility may be required during periods of increased activity, including guest stays, entertaining, and special events
