An established high-net-worth private principal based in Miami Beach, Florida, is looking to appoint a skilled and highly dependable Private Housekeeper to support the smooth day-to-day running of a luxury private residence.

This is a permanent, long-term opportunity for a candidate who combines excellent housekeeping standards with sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to respond confidently to changing priorities. While maintaining the home is central to the position, the successful candidate must also be comfortable handling personal requests, coordinating household errands, and providing practical support whenever circumstances require.

The household operates in a relaxed and informal manner, but expectations are high. The principal values someone who anticipates needs, uses initiative, and can move effortlessly between detailed cleaning, specialist garment care, preparing a requested drink, and urgent local errands without compromising service standards.

The role is part of an expanding portfolio of private family properties and offers genuine potential for professional development, with future progression into a Head Housekeeper or Assistant House Manager position for the right candidate.

A structured handover and comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided by the current housekeeper before her maternity leave, ensuring continuity and familiarity with the principal’s preferences and household routines.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping and Property Care

Maintain the four-bedroom principal residence to an exceptional standard of cleanliness, order, and presentation.
Carry out daily cleaning, dusting, polishing, and organisation across all living areas.
Use appropriate methods and products when caring for premium finishes, delicate surfaces, valuable furnishings, and high-end materials.
Manage fine laundry, specialist garment care, ironing, folding, and wardrobe upkeep with precision.
Make beds and replace linens regularly, ensuring bedrooms are consistently well presented.
Pack and unpack luggage carefully in preparation for the principal’s trips and upon their return.
Undertake seasonal deep cleaning, detailed organisation, and full property refreshes during periods when the principal is away, typically around four months each year.

Personal Assistance and Daily Requests

Respond promptly to the principal’s changing needs, reprioritising planned duties whenever an urgent request arises.
Prepare smoothies, refreshments, and other simple items on request.
Handle time-sensitive personal errands, including pharmacy collections and purchases from local shops.
Drive to nearby suppliers and retailers to obtain household or personal items as required.
Check incoming mail several times throughout the day and ensure correspondence is handled according to household instructions.
Receive parcels, deliveries, and other items on behalf of the household.
Provide occasional assistance to the private chef during busy periods, family gatherings, or changes to the household schedule.

Household Supplies and Team Coordination

Monitor cleaning products, equipment, and household consumables, arranging replenishment when necessary.
Keep kitchen pantry supplies organised and assist with maintaining adequate food stocks.
Work closely with the Personal Assistant, House Manager, other housekeepers, and household personnel.
Support the House Manager with practical arrangements, property-related tasks, and wider household logistics.
Follow established household procedures while maintaining flexibility when unexpected priorities arise.
Protect the principal’s privacy and maintain complete discretion in all aspects of the role.

Job Requirements

Work Authorisation: Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder with legal authorisation to work in the United States.
Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience as a private housekeeper or domestic professional in a high-end private residence.
Luxury Housekeeping Standards: Strong knowledge of caring for premium interiors, delicate finishes, valuable furnishings, and fine clothing.
Specialist Garment Care: Excellent laundry, ironing, folding, and wardrobe-management skills.
Adaptability: Able to switch between planned housekeeping duties and urgent personal requests without hesitation.
Practical Judgement: Strong common sense, initiative, and the ability to assess priorities independently.
Interpersonal Skills: High emotional intelligence and a calm, service-oriented approach when dealing with a demanding principal.
Driving Requirements: Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle for local errands.
Language: Fluent spoken and written English.
Professional Conduct: Trustworthy, discreet, organised, and attentive to detail.
Background Screening: Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check before appointment.

Working Conditions

Job Title: Private Housekeeper
Location: Miami Beach, Florida, USA
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time, direct hire on a W-2 employment basis
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Weekend Availability: Occasional weekend work may be required, with additional hours paid separately as overtime
Start Date: As soon as possible
Employment Stability: Guaranteed year-round income, including periods when the principal is away from the residence for approximately four months annually
