Log inA high-profile private household located in River Oaks, Houston is seeking an accomplished and discreet Estate Manager to oversee the full operations of a large private residence. This live-out position offers a long-term opportunity for a senior household professional with strong leadership, organizational, and property management expertise.
The residence includes six bedrooms, landscaped outdoor spaces, a gym, swimming pool, and multiple entertaining areas. The Estate Manager will act as the principal’s trusted representative, ensuring the smooth daily running of the property while maintaining exceptional standards across all areas of the home.
Household Leadership & Staff Management
Direct and supervise household staff, including recruitment support, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance follow-up.
Create, implement, and update household operating procedures, manuals, checklists, and workflows.
Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure cleanliness, organization, security, and service standards are consistently met.
Property and Systems Oversight
Manage all day-to-day operations of the residence and its technical systems.
Plan and oversee preventative maintenance programs to protect the property long-term.
Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers for repairs, upgrades, and ongoing services.
Maintain up-to-date records for vendors, warranties, and service agreements.
Financial and Administrative Management
Monitor household budgets, invoices, expenses, and petty cash with a high level of accuracy.
Prepare regular reports for the principals and/or family office.
Review and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure service quality and cost control.
Family & Lifestyle Support
Coordinate private events such as dinners, small gatherings, and seasonal occasions.
Assist with travel preparation, including packing, unpacking, and home readiness during absences.
Oversee household inventories, including pantry supplies, linens, furniture, service items, and seasonal equipment.
Ensure the residence operates seamlessly during periods when the family is traveling.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a senior household role such as Estate Manager, House Manager, Chief Steward, or Director of Residences.
Proven background working with HNW or UHNW households, luxury estates, or five-star hospitality environments.
Strong leadership skills with hands-on experience managing staff, vendors, and complex properties.
Highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
Professional, calm, and discreet, with a strong sense of confidentiality and trust.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Based in or near Houston, Texas, or willing to relocate independently.
Valid driver’s license and verifiable references required.
