Butler / Houseman Duties

One member of the couple will primarily support the household through front-of-house and service responsibilities, including:

• Delivering polished formal and informal food and beverage service.
• Welcoming and assisting family members and guests in a warm and professional manner.
• Providing chauffeur services for the principals and guests when required.
• Preparing vehicles and assisting with transportation requirements.
• Packing and unpacking luggage ahead of family travel.
• Supporting wardrobe preparation and personal packing requirements.
• Assisting with preparations before and after trips.
• Accompanying the principals on occasional international travel.
• Maintaining guest rooms, reception areas and entertaining spaces to an impeccable standard.
• Assisting the wider household team with daily estate operations.
• Supporting private events, family gatherings and entertaining when required.

Housekeeper Duties

The second member of the couple will focus primarily on the interior presentation and upkeep of the residence, including:

• Maintaining the home to an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas and guest spaces.
• Managing laundry, ironing and clothing care.
• Assisting with wardrobe organisation and seasonal clothing rotation.
• Handling delicate fabrics, fine furnishings, antiques and specialist materials with appropriate care.
• Undertaking seasonal deep cleaning and detailed household organisation.
• Assisting with light food preparation and simple meals when requested.
• Ensuring bedrooms and guest accommodation are prepared to the required standard.
• Providing occasional support with the family’s 13-year-old son.
• Assisting at the family’s European residences when travel is required.

The couple will also be expected to support one another and the wider household team when circumstances require.

Household Team & Collaboration

The estate operates with an established team, and excellent communication is essential.

The successful couple will be expected to:

• Work closely with the existing Domestic Couple and Housekeepers.
• Coordinate effectively with the Personal Assistant and gardening team.
• Communicate clearly regarding household requirements and priorities.
• Remain flexible when family schedules change.
• Assist colleagues during particularly busy periods or events.
• Maintain a discreet and respectful presence within the private household.
