Travelling Caregivers

Travelling Caregivers job (M/F) in Paris, France

Paris 16

Job Description

A distinguished elderly couple, based primarily in Paris 16th and regularly travelling between their residences in Switzerland, Corsica and New York, is seeking two experienced Travelling Caregivers to join their established private-service team.

The couple is looking for two independent professionals who will work together in a close, coordinated and supportive partnership. This is not a rotational position: each caregiver will be employed on a separate, full-time and permanent basis.

The household already benefits from the services of a Housekeeper and Private Chef. The caregivers will therefore focus principally on the couple’s personal assistance, daily comfort, mobility, companionship and health-related support.

This opportunity is suited to experienced care professionals who are discreet, compassionate, highly adaptable and comfortable accompanying elderly principals across several international residences.

Responsibilities

Personal Care & Mobility Support for Monsieur

Monsieur requires more extensive daily assistance and uses a wheelchair.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist Monsieur with getting up and preparing for the day.
  • Provide support with bedtime routines.
  • Help with dressing and undressing.
  • Assist with washing, showering and personal hygiene.
  • Support safe transfers and mobility.
  • Accompany Monsieur during indoor and outdoor movements.
  • Ensure his comfort and safety throughout the day.
  • Observe his general condition and provide reassuring emotional support.

Support & Companionship for Madame

Madame remains relatively independent but benefits from attentive assistance and a reassuring presence.

Duties will include:

  • Provide companionship and a caring daily presence.
  • Offer assistance with personal routines when required.
  • Accompany Madame to medical, personal and social appointments.
  • Assist with practical matters as needed.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance.

Health & Care Coordination

The caregivers will play an important role in monitoring the couple’s wellbeing and coordinating with the family and relevant healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administer medication in accordance with established instructions and applicable requirements.
  • Monitor relevant vital signs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed daily care records.
  • Record changes in health, mobility, mood or general condition.
  • Report concerns or significant changes promptly to the family and healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and external care services.
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals when required.
  • Identify and help coordinate additional qualified carers or specialist support when necessary.
  • Ensure continuity and consistency of care across all residences.

Daily Household & Practical Support

In addition to their care responsibilities, the caregivers may be asked to provide practical assistance, including:

  • Helping to serve meals.
  • Driving the couple to medical and personal appointments.
  • Carrying out occasional errands.
  • Providing light household assistance when the Housekeeper is unavailable.
  • Preparing simple meals when the Private Chef is not present.
  • Supporting the couple with day-to-day organisation and comfort.

International Travel & Multiple Residences

The caregivers will accompany the couple during both short trips and extended stays.

The principal residences and destinations include:

  • Paris 16th, France
  • Switzerland
  • Corsica
  • New York, USA
  • Madagascar, on an occasional basis

The couple may spend two to three consecutive months in Switzerland or Corsica. Candidates must therefore be genuinely mobile, fully available for extended travel and comfortable adapting to different residences and routines.

The role requires:

  • Accompanying the couple throughout their travels.
  • Adjusting to different environments and household arrangements.
  • Remaining flexible when plans or schedules change.
  • Managing occasional last-minute changes with calmness and professionalism.
  • Maintaining consistent care standards regardless of location.

Job Requirements

Applicants should have a strong background in elderly care and be comfortable working in a demanding, highly private environment.

Essential requirements include:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience caring for elderly individuals.
  • Experience supporting individuals with reduced mobility or complex daily-care needs.
  • A qualification as a Nursing Assistant, Caregiver, Home Care Aide or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Previous nursing-care experience.
  • Valid European Union passport.
  • Eligibility for ESTA travel authorisation for the United States.
  • Valid Category B driving licence.
  • Legal authorisation to work in both France and Switzerland.
  • Full availability for frequent international travel and extended stays abroad.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional long days.
  • Strong physical and emotional resilience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Genuine empathy and kindness.
  • Patience and emotional maturity.
  • A calm and reassuring manner.
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality.
  • Integrity and a high level of personal responsibility.
  • Reliability and consistency.
  • Flexibility in response to changing circumstances.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Respect for the couple’s dignity, privacy and independence.
  • A professional, caring and service-oriented attitude.

Candidates must be able to commit fully to the travel requirements and working arrangements of the position.
