Job Description

A high-net-worth family is looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Housekeeper / Household Coordinator to join their team at a newly renovated private residence in County Wicklow.

This is a hands-on role suited to a meticulous household professional who takes genuine pride in maintaining an immaculate home while also being confident coordinating external service providers and managing the practical details of day-to-day household operations.

Working closely with the family’s Private Chef, the successful candidate will take ownership of housekeeping, laundry, household organisation and the coordination of cleaning and maintenance services. The family has teenage children, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working discreetly and efficiently around an active family environment.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Daily Standards

  • Take personal responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the residence.
  • Carry out detailed daily housekeeping across living areas, bedrooms, family spaces and other areas of the home.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify anything requiring cleaning, organisation, replenishment or attention.
  • Maintain consistently high standards throughout the property.
  • Ensure the home remains polished, welcoming and fully functional at all times.

Household Organisation

  • Establish practical and efficient organisational systems following the recent renovation.
  • Organise wardrobes, pantries, storage areas and household supplies.
  • Ensure household belongings are stored logically and maintained in excellent condition.
  • Manage linen, towels and household textiles, including regular rotation and replacement.
  • Keep track of household requirements and ensure supplies are replenished before they run low.

Laundry & Garment Care

  • Take full responsibility for the family’s laundry requirements.
  • Handle delicate garments and fine fabrics with appropriate care.
  • Manage washing, ironing, pressing and folding to a high standard.
  • Oversee seasonal wardrobe changes and ensure clothing is properly stored and maintained.
  • Maintain an organised system for household linen and towels.

Contractors & External Services

  • Act as the main household contact for external cleaning companies and specialist contractors.
  • Schedule cleaning, maintenance and other services as required.
  • Meet and supervise tradespeople and service providers when they attend the property.
  • Clearly communicate household requirements and monitor the quality of completed work.
  • Report any maintenance concerns or property issues to the appropriate person.

Deliveries, Errands & Supplies

  • Receive and organise daily deliveries and parcels.
  • Coordinate access for tradespeople, technicians and other visitors.
  • Carry out regular household inventory checks.
  • Manage weekly replenishment of cleaning products, toiletries, pantry essentials and other household supplies.
  • Maintain accurate awareness of stock levels throughout the residence.

Household Teamwork

  • Work closely with the in-house Private Chef to ensure smooth daily household routines.
  • Coordinate household activities efficiently around family schedules.
  • Maintain clear communication with the family regarding household matters.
  • Take initiative and resolve routine issues independently whenever possible.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a private household, luxury estate or high-end hospitality environment, with the maturity and practical ability to take ownership of a residence.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Housekeeper, Head Housekeeper, Household Coordinator or similar role.
  • Previous experience within a high-end private household, luxury estate or boutique hospitality environment.
  • Strong hands-on housekeeping skills combined with the ability to oversee external service providers.
  • Highly organised, meticulous and naturally attentive to detail.
  • Energetic and comfortable with a physically active, hands-on position.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Fluent spoken English.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence coordinating contractors and external suppliers.
  • Discreet, trustworthy and professional.
  • Flexible and comfortable working around a family with teenage children.
  • Must be based in County Wicklow or Dublin.
  • Own reliable vehicle and a full, clean driving licence are essential.
  • Willing and able to undertake local household errands when required.

Working Conditions

  • Position: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: County Wicklow, Ireland
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Working pattern: 5 days on / 2 days off
  • Contract: Permanent, long-term
  • Salary: Negotiable for an exceptional candidate

Salary

€45,000–€55,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications
