Job Description

Our client, residing near Bordeaux (33), is looking for a professional Traveling Butler (M/F) to oversee the smooth management and daily operations of multiple high-end residences. This individual will play a vital role in coordinating household logistics, maintaining service excellence, and delivering refined table service and cuisine for the principals.

This is a full-time, permanent position (CDI – 35 hours/week), available immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of several private estates located in Bordeaux, Cap Ferret, and Corrèze.
  • Coordinate with in-residence staff, including the cook, housekeepers, and gardeners, to ensure seamless service across all homes.
  • Travel frequently between residences based on the family’s schedule and requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, and proper functioning of all home systems and amenities.
  • Greet, brief, and supervise external contractors and service providers.
  • Conduct grocery shopping and manage household inventories.
  • Prepare and serve meals for the employers when required, maintaining excellent presentation and taste standards.
  • Set up and serve tables following fine dining etiquette.
  • Organize and pack luggage for the family’s travels.
  • Manage wardrobes and dressing areas, ensuring order and care.
  • Supervise and coordinate vehicle maintenance with the general services team.
  • Provide driving assistance when necessary.
  • Communicate with the personal assistant to monitor household budgets, purchases, and expenses.
  • Occasionally assist with the care of two friendly dogs.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar setting (private household, luxury hospitality, or estate management).
  • Versatile, autonomous, and well-organized professional with strong multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrates discretion, reliability, and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent understanding of formal service standards and table protocol.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working harmoniously with staff and principals.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive mindset.
  • Pet-friendly and comfortable assisting with animal care.
  • Fluent in French; English proficiency highly appreciated.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions

  • Job Title: Traveling Butler (M/F)
  • Locations: Bordeaux, Cap Ferret, Corrèze
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Contract Type: Full-time, permanent (CDI)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (1-hour lunch break)
