A private employer is seeking an experienced and reliable Housekeeper to oversee the day-to-day upkeep of a private chalet in Megève (74). This role involves full responsibility for the interior maintenance, organisation, and readiness of the property, ensuring a high standard of comfort and presentation at all times.

This is a permanent, full-time position, starting in February 2026, suited to a professional accustomed to working independently in high-end private residences or luxury hospitality environments.

Responsibilities

Ensure the daily cleanliness and presentation of the chalet, including cleaning, dusting, polishing, and general upkeep.
Manage household linen, including washing, ironing, folding, and storage.
Oversee stock and inventory of cleaning products and household supplies.
Prepare the chalet ahead of the owner’s arrival, ensuring everything is in perfect order.
Monitor the overall condition of the interior and ensure household equipment is functioning correctly.
Coordinate and welcome external service providers when required.
Receive parcels and deliveries and manage related follow-ups.
Handle additional household services such as post office visits, pharmacy runs, dry cleaning, florist orders, and shopping.
Welcome guests and ensure their comfort and expectations are met.
Maintain regular communication with the employer and provide updates as needed.

Job Requirements

Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role within a private residence or the luxury hotel sector.
Self-sufficient, adaptable, and well organised.
Strong service mindset aligned with five-star standards.
Proactive with the ability to take initiative and anticipate needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional attitude.
Absolute discretion and respect for confidentiality.
Flexible availability when the employer is in residence.
Comfortable communicating in French and English.
Valid driving licence required.
