Antalya

Job Description

An international private family based in Antalya, Turkey, is seeking an exceptional Russian-speaking Governess / Educator to oversee the educational and intellectual development of their two young daughters, aged 2 and 4.

Neither child currently attends kindergarten, making this a particularly important role within the family’s household. In time, the Governess will also become involved in the educational development of the family’s newborn child.

This position is strictly education-focused. The family has dedicated nannies and grandmothers who take care of childcare routines, meals, hygiene and domestic responsibilities. The Governess will therefore be able to concentrate fully on creating an engaging, structured and stimulating educational environment.

The ideal candidate will combine strong academic credentials with extensive knowledge of early childhood development and experience working with children in UHNW or VIP private households.

  • Adapt teaching methods and activities according to each child’s individual learning style and abilities.
  • Introduce age-appropriate concepts while maintaining an engaging and enjoyable learning environment.

Developmental activities

  • Use short, engaging activities and learning blocks appropriate for young children.
  • Encourage curiosity, independent thinking, problem-solving and a genuine enjoyment of learning.
  • Introduce children to literature, art, science, nature and the wider world through age-appropriate activities.

Educational walks & activities

  • Transform daily outdoor time into meaningful learning opportunities.
  • Encourage children to observe and understand nature, animals, the environment and their surroundings.
  • Organize educational outings, cultural experiences and age-appropriate activities when appropriate.

Learning environment

  • Assess the children’s existing educational environment and recommend improvements.
  • Select appropriate books, educational resources, games and developmental materials.
  • Organize learning areas to encourage concentration, creativity and independent exploration.
  • Introduce relevant principles from recognized educational approaches according to each child’s needs.

Long-term educational development

  • Build a strong foundation for the children’s future schooling.
  • Encourage broad general knowledge, intellectual curiosity and confident communication.
  • Foster early critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain detailed awareness of each child’s educational development and communicate progress appropriately with the family.

Job Requirements

The family is looking for an accomplished educator with a genuine passion for early childhood development and the ability to work discreetly within a sophisticated private household.

Essential requirements

  • University degree in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, Child Psychology, Primary Education or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of modern approaches to child development and early education.
  • Practical knowledge of methodologies such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia and STEAM, with the ability to adapt rather than rigidly follow a single methodology.
  • Familiarity with contemporary approaches to developmental and educational psychology is highly desirable.
  • Native-level or exceptionally fluent Russian, with a rich vocabulary and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong English would be a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience working with young children in a private UHNW/VIP household.
  • Excellent, verifiable references from previous employers.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and broad general knowledge.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism and personal integrity.
  • Clear understanding of professional boundaries and household hierarchy.
  • Commitment to a long-term position and multi-year cooperation.

Working Conditions

  • Position: Russian-Speaking Governess / Educator
  • Location: Antalya, Turkey

  • 5 days per week
  • Approximately 10:00 to 19:00, with appropriate breaks
  • Exact schedule to be agreed with the family

  • Example: 1 month on / 1 month off
