Full-Time Rota Nanny job (M/F) in Zurich, Switzerland

Zurich

Job Description

An international family based just outside Zurich, Switzerland, is looking for a warm, energetic, and highly experienced Rota Nanny to care for their two boys, aged 6 and 7. The household fosters an encouraging, respectful, and stimulating atmosphere where curiosity, independence, and positive communication are essential.

The family’s long-standing nanny—who has been with them for six years—will remain in the home. The incoming nanny will join on a rota schedule of one week on / one week off, with the possibility of 10 days on / 10 days off when travelling.

This opportunity is ideal for a professional nanny seeking a stable, long-term role in an active, multicultural household with frequent travel.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, caring, and development-focused childcare for two independent school-aged boys.
  • Support morning and evening routines, including hygiene, dressing, preparation, and bedtime.
  • Inspire creativity and confidence through sports, imaginative play, reading, and outdoor exploration.
  • Plan a wide range of engaging activities such as cooking projects, nature walks, games, and crafts.
  • Coordinate with private tutors to maintain an effective and structured homeschooling rhythm.
  • Keep bedrooms, wardrobes, toys, and play areas tidy, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Use a Socratic approach to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and independence.
  • Join the family on international trips (Europe, Middle East, USA), ensuring continuity of care.
  • Communicate openly, respectfully, and professionally with the parents and wider household team.

Job Requirements

  • Fluency in English, French, or Italian is essential; German or other languages are an advantage.
  • Proven experience caring for school-aged children within private households.
  • Sporty, active, and energetic—comfortable supporting lively, curious children.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to changing family schedules.
  • Respects children’s independence while providing balanced, gentle guidance.
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and professional, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driving license required.
  • Eligible to work in Switzerland (EU or Swiss passport, or valid Swiss work permit).

Working Conditions

  • Rota schedule: One week on / one week off (with flexibility during travel).
  • Working hours: Approx. 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (with appropriate breaks).
  • Accommodation: Private bedroom and bathroom provided during working weeks.
  • Travel: Required (Europe, Middle East, USA), with all expenses fully covered.
  • Meals: Provided while on duty.
  • Start date: As soon as possible.

Salary

CHF 7,500 – 8,000 gross per month, with the possibility of a higher salary based on experience.
