Job Description

An international family based in Zug is seeking a dynamic and experienced Rota Nanny to join their childcare team and provide dedicated support to two school-aged children, aged 7 and 8.

This is a long-term position within a structured and collaborative household environment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, warm, and highly engaged, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development, and overall wellbeing.

The role is especially suited to a nanny who enjoys active lifestyles, outdoor activities, and who can bring creativity and positivity into the children’s daily routine while maintaining consistency and structure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, caring, and development-focused childcare for two homeschooled children (ages 7 and 8)
  • Support daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and educational progression
  • Collaborate closely with parents and tutors to ensure a coherent and structured homeschooling system
  • Promote curiosity and independent thinking through a Socratic and child-led learning approach
  • Design and lead engaging educational, creative, and physical activities
  • Encourage active lifestyles through sports, outdoor play, and stimulating experiences
  • Foster independence, responsibility, confidence, and respectful behaviour
  • Maintain excellent organisation of children’s bedrooms, wardrobes, learning materials, and play areas
  • Assist with packing and organising during family travel
  • Travel with the family when required

Job Requirements

The family is looking for a professional nanny with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset.

  • Prior experience as a nanny in private households is essential
  • Experience with school-aged children in a structured environment
  • Exposure to homeschooling or working alongside tutors is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with or interest in the Socratic method and child-led education
  • Fluent in English, French, or Italian (additional languages are a plus)
  • Energetic, sporty, and comfortable with active children
  • Positive, adaptable, and flexible attitude
  • Strong organisational and independent working skills
  • High level of discretion, reliability, and professionalism
  • Valid driving licence required (driving duties are limited)
  • Preference for candidates based in Switzerland or nearby regions (France/Italy border areas)

Working Conditions

  • Permanent full-time role
  • Rota schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Accommodation provided during working rotation
  • Occasional international and domestic travel required
  • Flexibility needed during busy family periods
  • Start date: As soon as possible
