Property Guardians

A prestigious estate near Gisors in the Oise region is seeking a dedicated couple to serve as live-in Property Guardians. This role is integral to the upkeep and security of the property, ensuring a well-maintained and safe environment for the owner.

The ideal candidates will be a couple looking to make a long-term commitment, becoming an essential part of the estate’s daily operations. They will join an existing team that includes a housekeeper and a chef.

Location: The role is situated in the scenic vicinity of Gisors, Oise (60). Contract: This is a full-time, permanent position with residence, starting in November 2023.

Responsibilities:

For the Gentleman:

• Oversee the property’s maintenance, ensuring all systems function smoothly.
• Manage and coordinate any maintenance, repair, or renovation projects on the property and its outbuildings.
• Handle the security of the premises, including regular patrols and monitoring.
• Liaise with contractors, draft project briefs, negotiate estimates, and oversee the approval and billing processes.
• Work in conjunction with the owner’s Treasurer to manage expenses and budgeting.
• Oversee correspondence, package deliveries, and staff leave schedules, coordinating with the owner’s HR department.
• Provide transportation for the owner and family when the regular driver is unavailable.
• Perform occasional handyman tasks and report regularly to the owner.

For the Lady:

• Maintain the residence, ensuring thorough cleaning and upkeep of all areas.
• Care for the owner’s personal and household linens and manage the upkeep of valuable furnishings and décor.
• Collaborate with the existing housekeeper to ensure seamless operation.
• Assist with table service during meals.
• Coordinate with the chef and steward for efficient procurement and inventory management.
• Step in to prepare meals that adhere to the owner’s dietary preferences in the chef’s absence.

Candidate Profile:

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar stewardship role.
• A friendly and personable duo seeking a stable, long-term opportunity.
• Trustworthy, discreet, and dependable individuals.
• Energetic, adaptable, and flexible in their duties.
• Self-starters with excellent organizational skills.
• Fluent in French with basic English proficiency.
• Both individuals must possess a valid driver’s license.

Employment Terms:

• Title: Property Guardian Couple
• Start Date: November 2023
• Work Location: Near Gisors, Oise (60)
• Contract Type: Permanent, full-time with flexible scheduling, including weekends with compensatory rest during the week.
• A six-month probationary period applies.
• The couple will be provided with independent, spacious accommodation on the estate, suitable for a couple without pets (cats are an exception) and without children in their care.

Compensation:

• A competitive net salary of 2500€ per person per month, with a 13th-month pay structure.
