Log inAn exclusive private household on the Upper West Side of New York City is seeking a highly skilled and creative Private Chef to join their team. The household is looking for a professional with exceptional culinary expertise, especially in Mediterranean and international cuisine, who can deliver restaurant-quality meals in a refined home environment.
This role goes beyond cooking — the Chef will design bespoke menus that reflect the principal’s tastes and dietary needs, manage all aspects of the kitchen, and source the finest ingredients available in New York. Flexibility, precision, and a passion for culinary excellence are essential.
Culinary Excellence
Develop and execute a variety of personalized menus, focusing on Mediterranean and international dishes.
Prepare daily meals emphasizing health, flavor, and presentation.
Adapt menus to dietary requirements, seasonal produce, and special requests.
Kitchen & Inventory Management
Maintain the kitchen to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Oversee grocery shopping, pantry organization, and stock rotation.
Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate with specialty vendors.
Track household food expenses and stay within agreed budgets.
Household Integration
Collaborate with other household staff to ensure smooth operations.
Prepare meals or refreshments for guests and, when requested, staff.
Occasionally assist with table presentation and service.
Provide support to household staff when coordinating events or food service.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Private Chef in HNW households, fine dining restaurants, or luxury hotels.
Formal culinary training or a degree strongly preferred.
Reference-checkable career history with proven long-term placements.
Strong knowledge of nutrition, specialty diets, and diverse cuisines.
Creative, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a refined approach to presentation.
Professional appearance, discretion, and reliability.
Team player with excellent communication skills.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
Location: Upper West Side, New York City, New York, USA
Schedule: 5–6 days per week, with flexibility for events and entertaining.
Accommodation: Live-out (no housing provided).
