We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Chef to join a family of three based in Pasadena, CA, USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing dinners for the family six days a week, as well as occasional group events (up to 15 people). The ideal candidate must be proficient in French-inspired course meals, BBQ, and comfort food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create weekly menus for dinners that showcase a variety of cuisine styles
- Procure groceries from local markets and farmers’ markets to ensure the highest quality ingredients
- Plan and prepare meals according to the client’s preferences, dietary restrictions, and requirements
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment
- Ensure that meals are prepared to the highest standards and served on time
- Manage inventory and keep track of kitchen supplies
- Research and experiment with new recipes to keep menus fresh and exciting
- Ensure smooth operation during group events, which typically occur on Wednesdays
- Be willing to travel with the family to their ranch
- Work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Requirements:
- Experience as a private chef or in a similar role
- Experience in high-end restaurants or hotels is a plus
- Proven expertise in preparing a range of cuisine styles
- Knowledge of local markets and ability to grocery shop
- Ability to prepare meals for small and large groups (up to 15 people)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Willingness to travel with the client
- W-2 employment through the client’s company
Schedule: The chef will be required to prepare dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday off. Dinner is usually between 6:00-7:30pm.
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications. No accommodation will be provided.
