Job Description

Morgan & Mallet International is seeking an experienced, native English-speaking Governess/Nanny for a private family based in Paris’s prestigious 7th arrondissement. The successful candidate will care for three children aged 9, 7 and 4, joining a warm, energetic household where a housekeeper is already employed for four hours each day.

The Role

This is a permanent, live-in position starting in early September. The role is ideal for a confident, energetic childcare professional who enjoys working with active children and can create a structured yet stimulating environment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

Collecting the children from school at 4:30pm
Preparing nutritious snacks and evening meals for the children
Taking the children to parks, outdoor spaces and recreational activities
Supervising bath time and evening routines through to bedtime
Coordinating and accompanying the children to their activities, including judo, piano, chess and table tennis
Organising age-appropriate games and activities for all three children
Managing the dynamics of a mixed-age group with confidence and consistency
Purchasing groceries and other items required for the children’s meals
Encouraging physical activity, curiosity, independence and positive behaviour
Providing occasional additional evening babysitting, approximately 1–2 times per week

Job Requirements

The family is looking for a dynamic and engaging professional who can combine warmth and authority while keeping three energetic children positively occupied.

You should have:

Native-level English, with American English strongly preferred
Demonstrable professional childcare experience, particularly with active boys
Experience caring for children across different age groups, ideally ages 4–9
Confidence managing several children simultaneously
A genuine interest in sport and outdoor pursuits, particularly rugby and table tennis
The ability to encourage, challenge and motivate children in a positive way
A charismatic, enthusiastic and naturally engaging personality
A firm but caring approach to boundaries, routines and behaviour
Creativity, initiative and a proactive attitude toward planning activities

Working Conditions

Permanent CDI contract
Live-in accommodation: approximately 50 m² apartment in Issy-les-Moulineaux
Work location: Paris 7th arrondissement
Start: Early September

Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 4:30pm–9pm
Wednesday: 9am–9pm
Additional evening babysitting may be required 1–2 times per week.

Salary

€35,000–€38,000 gross per year
