A family residing in Dubai, UAE, is seeking a qualified and professional Governess who is fluent in Finnish to care for their 2-year-old daughter.
Duties and responsibilities
- Organizing educational activities that foster creativity, imagination, and social development, with an expectation for the Governess to apply various educational systems, such as Montessori and Glenn Doman philosophies.
- Proficiency in Finnish is crucial due to the family’s trilingual nature: the mother speaks Russian to the daughter, parents communicate in English, and the father speaks Finnish to the daughter. The Governess is most fluent in Russian, followed by English, and additional support is needed in Finnish.
- Ensuring children follow a routine that accommodates homework and educational activities.
- Planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities.
- Teaching specialized subjects such as language, STEM subjects, music, or art.
- Instructing manners, etiquette, and the correct code of conduct as approved by the family.
- Assisting children in developing basic life skills, including independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Encouraging appropriate behavior in children.
- Organizing enjoyable and educational outings for the children.
- Communicating with parents regarding children’s growth and education.
- Keeping children’s play or study areas clean and organized.
- Administering basic first aid if necessary.
- Preparing meals for the child and cleaning up after the child.
Profile Requirements
- 5 years of experience working as a Governess in a similar long-term post with references.
- Fluency in both English and Finnish.
- Qualifications in Childcare, Safety & Education.
- A dynamic, friendly, yet professional individual with kind and honest attributes, valuing the discretion required.
- Playing a vital role in actively supporting the family through a highly engaged and involved parenting approach.
- Assessment of performance will rely on the degree of collaboration and teamwork.
Job Conditions
- Type of contract: Part-time – One-year contract.
- Working hours: Three mornings each week, with up to 30 hours in total, including 20 daytime hours and 10 hours monitoring cameras in the evenings when parents may be away.
- Live-out position.
- Flight ticket, visa, and medical insurance will be provided.
- Available for immediate joining.
Salary : AED 12 000 net per month, equivalent to 3,100 euros per month for a part-time role.
