Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and versatile Housekeeper to manage the day-to-day running of their main residence located near Nantes. This position combines housekeeping responsibilities with family-style meal preparation, within a private and welcoming household environment.

The role is available immediately on a permanent contract (CDI) for 35 hours per week.
A staff accommodation with private access may be offered, depending on the candidate’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the interior of the residence to a high standard (cleaning, dusting, polishing, sweeping, etc.)
  • Manage all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, and storage
  • Oversee household and food supplies, ensuring appropriate stock levels
  • Handle grocery shopping and daily errands
  • Prepare balanced, varied, and family-style meals
  • Ensure the home is consistently tidy, organised, and well presented
  • Run occasional external errands (dry cleaner, post office, florist, pharmacy, etc.)
  • Manage purchases and provide reporting to the employer
  • Receive deliveries and manage incoming parcels
  • Welcome and supervise external service providers
  • Care for the household’s two small dogs when required
  • Provide chauffeur services for appointments upon request
  • Travel to other family residences if needed
  • Assist with childcare on Wednesdays when required

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar private household or professional setting
  • Highly versatile, autonomous, and well organised
  • Strong sense of responsibility and service
  • Enjoys working within a family-oriented environment
  • Comfortable with pets (two small dogs live in the home)
  • Flexible and available as needed
  • Demonstrates absolute discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Fluent in French
  • Valid driving licence required

Working Conditions

  • Position: Versatile Housekeeper
  • Location: Treillières, near Nantes (Loire-Atlantique)
  • Contract: Permanent (CDI) – 35 hours per week
  • Working hours: To be defined
  • Accommodation: Staff accommodation with private access possible

Salary

€2,800 to €3,000 gross per year, depending on experience and profile
