Job Description

A warm, English-speaking family living just outside Zurich is looking for an attentive, organised, and discreet live-in housekeeper to join their household on a long-term basis. This role includes private accommodation and offers a stable, welcoming environment for a candidate who enjoys supporting a family’s daily life.

The housekeeper will help maintain a well-run home, assist with family routines, and ensure a comfortable, tidy living space.

Responsibilities

Ensure the daily cleaning, organisation, and general upkeep of the residence.
Handle laundry duties, including washing, ironing, and wardrobe care.
Prepare simple, nutritious meals for the family when required.
Run errands and support day-to-day household tasks.
Interact gently and appropriately with the two children (ages 7 and 10).
Assist with preparing the home for guests and occasional visits.

Job Requirements

Fluent in English; knowledge of Portuguese or German is a valuable asset.
Previous experience working in a private household is essential.
Kind, dependable, highly discreet, and proactive in anticipating needs.
Comfortable around children and supportive of family routines.
Driving licence preferred.
EU passport required for Swiss work eligibility.
Must agree to avoid personal phone use during working hours.

Working Conditions

Start date: January 2026 (with full training and handover period).
Accommodation: Private, furnished room provided.
Employment: Swiss contract with full benefits and relocation support.

Salary

CHF 45,000 net per year (negotiable based on profile).
