Job Description

A family based in Belgravia is seeking a dependable and experienced Companion / House Aide to support an elderly couple for a two-month temporary placement.

This role combines practical household support with daily companionship and mobility assistance for a gentleman diagnosed with Parkinson’s. It is important to note that this is not a nursing position. However, previous experience assisting elderly individuals — particularly those with mobility-related conditions — is highly desirable.

The couple are mentally alert, value privacy, and appreciate a calm, structured environment. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, patience, and steady support while maintaining professionalism and discretion.

Compensation will be competitive and reflective of the London private household market.

Household Overview

Elderly couple residing privately in Belgravia.
Husband requires mobility support due to Parkinson’s.
Wife is independent but benefits from accompaniment.
Both value dignity, routine, and a peaceful atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Household Support

Maintain light daily housekeeping and general tidiness.
Manage laundry and ironing.
Complete grocery shopping and household errands.
Ensure the home remains organised and well maintained.

Meal Preparation

Prepare simple, nutritious meals.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
Assist with basic weekly meal planning.

Mobility & Companionship

Provide safe assistance with movement inside the home.
Support supervised outdoor walks.
Accompany the couple on short local outings.
Assist with light chair transfers when required.

General Oversight

Observe overall wellbeing.
Report any noticeable changes in condition.
Help maintain a calm, consistent daily routine.

Job Requirements

Proven experience supporting elderly individuals.
Comfortable assisting with mobility and light physical support.
Physically capable of safe, light transfers.
Patient, steady, and dependable personality.
Legal right to work in the UK.
Clear DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Experience supporting individuals with Parkinson’s (preferred).
Basic first aid knowledge.
Strong, verifiable references.

Working Conditions

Start Date: 15 March 2026
Duration: 2 months
Schedule: 6 days per week, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Accommodation: Not live-in

Salary

Excellent salary offered, negotiable based on experience.
