A private family living in Paris 75008 is seeking an experienced and versatile Housekeeper / Cook to join their household. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the home to a high standard while preparing fresh, family-style meals for a couple and their two children.

This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract (CDD), with the position available from September. The ideal candidate will be organised, autonomous, discreet, and comfortable working in a busy family environment.

The role combines traditional housekeeping, laundry, household errands, grocery shopping, and daily cooking, with occasional support for the children when required.

Responsibilities

Maintain the residence to a consistently high standard, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, polishing, window cleaning, and general upkeep.
Take responsibility for the family’s laundry, including washing, ironing, folding, and putting clothes and linens away.
Monitor household supplies and maintain appropriate stocks of cleaning products and other essentials.
Carry out grocery shopping and ensure the household has the necessary ingredients and supplies.
Prepare daily meals for the family, consisting of two adults and two children.
Assist with general household errands, including visits to the dry cleaner, post office, pharmacy, and other local services.
Receive and organise parcels, deliveries, and household items.
Identify and report any issues or malfunctions involving household equipment.
Provide occasional childcare support, including accompanying the children to extracurricular activities.
Communicate regularly with the employer regarding household requirements and any matters requiring attention.
Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality regarding the family and their private affairs.

Job Requirements

At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar Housekeeper, Cook, or combined household role.
Strong practical housekeeping skills and confidence managing a private residence independently.
Comfortable preparing meals for a family and genuinely enjoys cooking.
Well organised, reliable, responsible, and capable of managing multiple household tasks efficiently.
Autonomous and proactive, with the ability to anticipate the family’s needs.
Enjoys working in a family environment and is comfortable around children.
Flexible and willing to adapt to the family’s requirements when necessary.
Professional, discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of the employer’s privacy.
Good communication skills.
French, English, and/or Italian language skills are required.

Salary

€2,700–€3,000 net per month, depending on experience and profile
