Job Description

A private client based in the heart of Paris is seeking an accomplished House Manager to oversee the daily care and presentation of their primary residence, a luxury apartment of approximately 200 square metres located in the 1st arrondissement.

This opportunity is reserved for candidates with a proven background in luxury hospitality, Parisian palace hotels, prestigious five-star establishments, or high-end private residences. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain exceptional standards throughout the property while demonstrating impeccable discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Particular importance is placed on advanced garment care and expert ironing skills. Experience handling luxury clothing, delicate fabrics, couture pieces, fine linens, and exceptional textiles is an essential requirement for this position.

This is a long-term, full-time opportunity for a dedicated professional who takes pride in delivering flawless service within a private household environment.

Responsibilities

Residence Maintenance

  • Ensure the apartment is maintained to impeccable standards at all times.
  • Carry out detailed cleaning of living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
  • Oversee the care of floors, furnishings, decorative items, windows, and surfaces.
  • Maintain balconies, terraces, and outdoor areas in excellent condition.
  • Organise wardrobes, dressing rooms, and storage spaces with precision and consistency.
  • Monitor the condition of the property and promptly report any maintenance issues.

Laundry & Garment Care

  • Manage all aspects of laundry, ironing, steaming, and clothing care.
  • Handle luxury garments and delicate fabrics with the highest level of attention.
  • Ensure clothing, linens, and household textiles are perfectly maintained and stored.

Household Logistics

  • Conduct local shopping and household purchasing as required.
  • Coordinate errands including dry cleaning, pharmacy visits, postal services, and deliveries.
  • Monitor and replenish household supplies and cleaning products.
  • Welcome and supervise external contractors when necessary.

Reporting & Household Administration

  • Maintain regular communication with the employer regarding household matters.
  • Keep accurate records of expenses and purchases.
  • Submit organised and transparent expense reports in a timely manner.

Culinary Support (Optional)

  • Preparation of evening meals would be considered a valuable additional skill.
  • Where required, ensure the kitchen is left spotless following meal preparation.
  • Table service is not expected.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced household professional who combines discretion, efficiency, and exceptional standards of service.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum five years‘ experience within a palace hotel, luxury hospitality environment, five-star property, or prestigious private residence.
  • Demonstrable expertise in garment care, laundry management, and professional ironing.
  • Excellent knowledge of luxury fabrics, couture garments, and delicate materials.
  • Fluent French, both spoken and written.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate household needs.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Absolute discretion and respect for confidentiality.
  • Professional attitude and polished presentation at all times.
  • Verifiable references from previous employers.

Working Conditions

  • Permanent full-time contract (CDI).
  • Flexible working schedule to be agreed directly with the employer.
  • Location: Paris 1st arrondissement.
  • Start date: September 2026.
  • Initial probationary period of one month, renewable.
