Our client is in search of an experienced Guardian Couple for their secondary residence located an hour away from Bordeaux, nestled between the picturesque towns of Saint-Emilion and Bergerac in the enchanting Dordogne region.
The estate encompasses multiple hectares of land, featuring a recently renovated 600-square-meter chateau. The couple’s primary mission involves overseeing the property and ensuring the immaculate maintenance of both its interior and exterior.
This is a full-time permanent position available for immediate commencement. Accommodation will be provided in an autonomous dwelling complete with a garden.
Responsibilities:
- Thorough and meticulous cleaning and organization
- Precise household tasks, including the care of valuable artworks
- Ensuring proper room ventilation
- Maintenance of laundry, including delicate ironing
- Handling linen pressing
- Managing various errands and diverse shopping requirements
- Preparing balanced family meals (with a chef available for special receptions)
- Providing informal butler-style service
- Taking on chauffeur duties
- Keeping a watchful eye on property security and surveillance
- Upkeeping garden furniture and the pool area, including sunbeds, umbrellas, and cushions
- Conducting regular checks to ensure the proper functioning of all property systems, such as air conditioning, boilers, sports equipment, and hi-fi systems
- Managing assorted inventories
- Tackling minor repair and DIY tasks
- Caring for the garden, including mowing, pruning, and gardening
- Coordinating with external service providers
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a comparable role
- A committed couple seeking stable, long-term employment
- Diligent and exceptionally detail-oriented
- Individuals known for their reliability, integrity, and discretion
- Proficiency in gardening and DIY skills is mandatory
- Enthusiastic about culinary pursuits
- Proficient in French
- Competency in English is advantageous
- Both members of the couple must hold valid driver’s licenses

- Work Schedule: 35 hours per week for the gentleman, 20 hours per week for the lady when the property owner is absent, from Monday to Friday. Flexibility required on weekends and during the summer when the family is in residence.

Compensation for the Guardian Couple:
- Offered net monthly salary: €4,000 for the couple
- Inclusive of accommodation and utility expenses
- Provision of a company vehicle.
