Job Description

A large private farm in Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi, is seeking a skilled and dependable Gardener to maintain its landscaped grounds and support the cultivation of fruit, vegetables, crops, and other plants.

Working alongside an established gardening and maintenance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the property’s gardens in excellent condition while contributing to the day-to-day management of its agricultural areas.

This position is suited to a hands-on gardening professional with experience in both ornamental landscaping and practical farming. Candidates should have a strong understanding of plant care, cultivation techniques, irrigation, and outdoor maintenance, ideally gained on a private estate, farm, or large residential property.

Responsibilities

Maintain lawns, landscaped grounds, flowerbeds, ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees.
Carry out routine gardening tasks, including watering, pruning, hedge trimming, weeding, and fertilising.
Cultivate and care for fruit trees, vegetable gardens, crops, and other agricultural plants.
Prepare planting areas, improve soil conditions, sow seeds, and assist with harvesting.
Identify signs of plant disease, pest infestations, and nutrient deficiencies, taking appropriate action.
Operate and maintain irrigation systems, gardening machinery, hand tools, and other equipment.
Ensure outdoor areas, planting beds, and agricultural spaces remain clean, tidy, and well maintained.
Coordinate daily tasks with fellow gardeners and other farm personnel.
Follow appropriate horticultural practices, taking into account the UAE’s climate and growing conditions.
Assist with additional gardening and general outdoor maintenance duties when required.

Job Requirements

Previous professional experience as a gardener, landscape gardener, horticultural worker, or agricultural gardener.
Demonstrable experience in both landscaping and crop or produce cultivation.
Practical knowledge of ornamental plants, trees, flowers, fruit trees, vegetables, and seasonal crops.
Competence in soil preparation, planting, pruning, fertilisation, watering, and harvesting.
Understanding of irrigation systems, gardening equipment, and basic machinery maintenance.
Knowledge of plant health, pest management, and disease prevention.
Previous experience on a large private estate, farm, or luxury residential property is an advantage.
Familiarity with plant varieties and gardening techniques suited to the UAE’s hot climate is beneficial.
Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
A proactive, trustworthy, and diligent approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate effectively with a team.
Basic to good English communication skills are preferred.

Working Conditions

Position: Full-time, live-in
Location: Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Accommodation: Provided by the employer
Schedule: Six working days per week, with one day off
Weekly Rest: Work performed on a weekly rest day will be compensated in accordance with applicable UAE labour legislation.
Working Hours: Determined by the farm’s operational needs and daily schedule.
Start Date: As soon as possible. Immediate availability is preferred, although suitable candidates with a notice period of up to one month may be considered.
Employment Visa: Sponsored by the employer
Medical Insurance: Provided by the employer
Workplace: A spacious private farm with an established gardening and maintenance team.

Salary

The salary starts at AED 3,500 per month, with the final offer determined by the candidate’s experience, practical skills, and overall suitability for the position.
