Are you an experienced and attentive butler with a passion for providing impeccable service?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a full-time Live In Butler in Scotland, UK.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our VIP client by attending to their needs throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Start the day by serving a delicious breakfast to our VIP client.
  • Ensure the client’s living spaces are tidy and well-maintained, including changing towels, making beds, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Have coffee prepared and ready to go for the client whenever they desire.
  • Plan with their Chef and serve meals to the client.
  • Events and hosting – Coordinate and manage both formal and informal events, dinners, and gatherings.
  • Ensure seamless hosting, from menu planning to guest management.
  • Liaise with external vendors (caterers, florists, etc.) to ensure all aspects of events run smoothly.
  • Prepare for arrival of visitors and various needs when staying.
  • Assistance with luggage, packing and unpacking for journeys.
  • Utilise your experience to provide exceptional service and meet the client’s high standards.
  • Household management – Oversee the daily operations of the household staff and housekeepers.
  • Manage household inventories, including supplies and equipment.
  • Administrative Duties – Handle household budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Maintain records of property maintenance, staff payroll, and other essential documents.
  • Organise and maintain household schedules, including family travel and appointments.
  • Supervise and schedule staff to ensure all duties are fulfilled to a high standard.
  • Prepare the client’s room for the evening, ensuring it is a welcoming and comfortable space for them to retire to.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Butler in a similar private household or estate.
  • A dedicated and experienced butler with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering the highest level of service.
  • Looking for long-term
  • Strong knowledge of event planning, hospitality, and service etiquette.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Thorough knowledge of household technology and mechanical systems
  • Discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Flexibility in schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable with live-in arrangements.
  • Pet-friendly attitude and willingness to care for household pets.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel on short notice.
  • Know how to work under pressure and be able to anticipate.
  • Strong command of English.
  • Highly discreet in preserving the confidentiality and privacy of the family.
  • Other duties as required.

Work conditions

  • Monday to Friday with flexibility.
  • Accommodation and bills provided.
  • Salary £50000 – 55000 Depending on experience.
