Full-time Head Housekeeper (M/F) job offer in Kensington, London, UK

We are partnering with a long-term client in search of an experienced Head Housekeeper (M/F) to lead a team of four housekeepers at a primary residence in Kensington, London.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, passionate about their work, and ready to go above and beyond when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of 4-5 housekeepers, including scheduling, training, and quality inspections.
  • Handle inventory management, including ordering cleaning supplies and toiletries.
  • Oversee wardrobe and laundry operations.
  • Provide exceptional service to the family and guests, maintaining a high level of discretion.
  • Ensure all housekeeping duties are performed to an exceptional standard, covering both indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Care for bedroom suites, replenish linens, and maintain bathrooms, kitchen, and garden areas.
  • Assist with the daily laundry, including washing, ironing, spot cleaning, and dry cleaning.
  • Coordinate wardrobe management with the principal, ensuring their needs are well taken care of.
  • Plan and pack/unpack for trips when necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as required with a flexible and can-do attitude.
  • Be comfortable around cats.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a semi-formal or fully-staffed household.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Russian language skills would be an advantage.
  • A hands-on approach with a proactive work ethic.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-tier service.

  • Willingness to travel as needed, with a valid UK or EU passport.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and beyond standard housekeeping tasks.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK and travel within the EU.

Work conditions

  • Standard hours: 9 am to 5 pm, 5 days a week, including weekends with two days off.
  • 28 days of annual leave (inclusive of English Bank and Public Holidays).
  • Participation in the NEST pension scheme.
  • Immediate start available.
  • £50,000 gross per annum (contract basis).
