Job Description

Morgan & Mallet International is recruiting a Multi-Purpose Forestry Worker for a private forest estate located near Lisieux (Calvados).

This is a full-time, permanent role for a hands-on professional with strong experience in forestry work, land maintenance, and equipment handling. The position requires autonomy, technical skills, and a consistent approach to maintaining both woodland and surrounding areas.

The role is suited to someone practical, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors throughout the year.

Responsibilities

Forestry Operations

  • Carry out tree felling, cutting, and delimbing
  • Manage wood collection, stacking, and storage
  • Handle deadwood processing and shredding
  • Oversee designated timber sales areas
  • Prepare firewood for property use

Grounds & Land Maintenance

  • Maintain outdoor areas (clearing, weeding, raking, sweeping, moss removal)
  • Care for green spaces (mowing, pruning, planting, watering, digging)
  • Ensure the estate remains clean, accessible, and well maintained

Machinery & Equipment

  • Operate and maintain agricultural machinery (tractors, shredders, etc.)
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working condition
  • Carry out small repairs and general maintenance tasks
  • Apply strict safety procedures at all times

Reporting

  • Provide updates to property managers
  • Identify and report any risks, maintenance issues, or required interventions

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and comfortable working independently:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in forestry or similar environment
  • Strong practical skills in tree felling, cutting, and wood management
  • Good knowledge of tree species and forestry practices
  • Confident using machinery and technical equipment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Ability to assess risks (tree falls, disease, environmental hazards)
  • Respectful approach to nature and the environment
  • Autonomous, organised, and proactive
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Driving licence required

Working Conditions

  • Location: Near Lisieux (Calvados – 14), France
  • Contract: Full-time permanent (CDI)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
    • 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Start date: Immediate
  • Accommodation: Not provided

Salary

€2,300 gross per month, depending on experience and profile
