Log inAn active and welcoming family of three, based in Greenwich, Connecticut, is seeking a highly organized and nurturing Family Manager / Governess to provide both household support and educational mentorship for their 9-year-old daughter. This is a live-out, full-time opportunity offering long-term stability in a respectful and family-focused environment.
The role is ideal for a professional who can balance household management, childcare, and family coordination, while also serving as a positive role model for a school-aged child. The candidate will bring structure, discretion, and warmth while confidently managing a busy household.
Childcare & Mentorship
Act as a governess figure for a bright, independent 9-year-old girl.
Teach and encourage good manners, etiquette, and personal development.
Provide gentle academic support, including homework assistance and study habits (background in psychology or child development highly valued).
Manage after-school routines: transportation to lessons, playdates, and extracurricular activities.
Household Management
Maintain a welcoming, guest-ready home with daily tidying, laundry, and light housekeeping.
Oversee organization of closets, storage areas, and pantry.
Carry out errands, grocery shopping, and ensure smooth household logistics.
Prepare simple, healthy family meals.
Liaise with external contractors and service providers, resolving household issues proactively.
Family Support
Support the mother with scheduling, diary management, and coordination of school activities and social events.
Ensure consistency in family routines and provide structure within the household.
Work independently with initiative, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard without constant supervision.
Pet Care
Help care for the family’s three dogs: feeding, walking, and occasional vet visits.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Family Manager, Governess, or Nanny/Household Manager.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Warm, professional, and discreet demeanor with excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of etiquette and ability to mentor in social skills.
Psychology or educational background strongly preferred.
French-speaking skills are a plus.
Comfortable around pets and experienced in pet care.
Valid US driver’s license with a clean record.
Location: Greenwich, CT, USA
Contract: Full-time, permanent, live-out
Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexibility required for evenings and school events
