Job Description

A welcoming European family is recruiting an experienced Live-In Domestic Couple to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a prestigious chalet located in Celerina, near St. Moritz.

This is a long-term, lifestyle-oriented position for a couple who appreciates mountain living, independence, and maintaining a property to an exceptional standard throughout the year. The household atmosphere is informal and respectful, yet the expectations in terms of organisation, cleanliness, and presentation remain consistently high.

The chalet is occupied year-round, with the main residence period typically from December to March. During peak stays, additional staff such as housekeepers and a private chef are engaged. Outside of these periods, the couple will operate with a high level of autonomy, effectively acting as the resident managers of the property.

Responsibilities

Property & House Management

Overseeing the overall care, organisation, and smooth running of a large luxury chalet.
Ensuring the property is permanently maintained in a guest-ready condition.
Coordinating and supervising contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
Handling light maintenance tasks and monitoring technical matters.
Assisting with basic snow clearing when necessary (external services also available).

Housekeeping & Organisation

Maintaining immaculate standards of cleanliness across all living areas
Managing laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care
Ensuring excellent organisation throughout the property
Overseeing stock levels and household supplies

Service & Hosting Support (During Family Stays)

Providing informal service support when required.
Liaising closely with the chef and additional household staff.
Preparing the chalet for family arrivals and guest visits.

Additional Responsibilities

Simple, home-style cooking when needed (advantageous; a chef is usually present).
Running errands and managing household shopping.
Driving locally as required (vehicle provided; mileage covered).
Assisting with pet care when the family’s dog is in residence.

Job Requirements

Experienced domestic couple with a solid background in private households or estate management
Comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of responsibilities
Highly reliable, discreet, and trustworthy
Detail-focused, well organised, and consistent in maintaining standards
Able to deliver high-level service in a relaxed, informal environment
Hands-on, adaptable, and willing to support where needed
Enjoys a mountain lifestyle and long-term professional stability
Comfortable working in a pet-friendly household
Valid driving licences required (both candidates driving is a strong advantage)
Languages:
- English – essential
- Italian – strong advantage
- Swiss German – a plus, not required

Working Conditions

Staff accommodation provided
Approximately 9–10 months per year:
- Private apartment with bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, kitchen, and office
Approximately 2–3 months per year (peak season):
- Shared staff accommodation
- Private bedroom, bathroom, and office maintained
All utilities included

Contract & Benefits

Salary

CHF 6,000–7,000 gross per month per person or CHF 12,000–14,000 gross per month per couple, depending on experience
