Job Description

An elderly gentleman aged 90, living independently in La Baule, France, is seeking a reliable and caring Lady’s Companion / Housekeeper to assist with the smooth daily management of his home and provide reassuring companionship throughout the summer period.

The principal remains fully mobile, autonomous, and active, requiring mainly a supportive presence, meal preparation, and light household management within his 200 m² residence.

This is a live-in seasonal role running from mid-July until the end of August. The successful candidate will enjoy private accommodation within the property and work in a calm and respectful family environment.

Responsibilities

Companion Duties

Provide friendly companionship and reassuring daily support
Accompany the gentleman on walks and outdoor outings
Maintain a pleasant and comfortable living environment
Keep regular communication with the family and notify them if any concerns arise

Household Management

Plan and prepare balanced daily meals
Serve meals and manage kitchen clean-up after use
Handle grocery shopping and household supplies
Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and living areas
Wash, iron, fold, and organize household linen and personal clothing

Job Requirements

Previous experience in a similar companion or housekeeping position required
Calm, patient, discreet, and attentive personality
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and provide emotional reassurance
Organized and capable of working independently
Good communication skills with both the principal and family members
Valid Category B driving licence required for shopping errands and local transportation

Working Conditions

Position: Live-In Lady’s Companion / Housekeeper
Location: La Baule, Loire-Atlantique, France
Contract Type: Seasonal fixed-term contract (CDD) – Part-time
Employment Dates: From July 15 to August 28 inclusive
Working Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week
Accommodation: Private bedroom with separate bathroom provided within the residence
Trial Period: 7 days

Weekly Schedule

Monday: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Tuesday to Saturday:
- 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
- 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Daily duties include meal preparation, service, clearing the table, and kitchen maintenance.

Salary

Competitive salary package offered according to profile and previous experience.
