One of our clients, a family of 3 based in Coral Gables, FL, is seeking an experienced, professional, and skilled full-time chef for their private household. The family is looking for an individual who is child-friendly and familiar with Mediterranean-style and healthy cooking.

The family requests healthy lunches and dinners prepared daily and served at their family home.

A minimum of 8 days off per month along with half-days. No travel required.

Occasional dinner parties for 10 people or fewer.

Preparation of breakfast the day before, fresh green juices, fruit cups, snacks. Also, must be able to assist around the house, take the dog out, pick up prescriptions, drop off packages, etc.

Fluency in English is essential for direct communication with family members. (Spanish would be an added bonus)
The individual must be clean and tidy and assist around the house to maintain cleanliness and help with tasks around the house.
A typical day would involve assisting with lunch and evening meals, finishing around 8:30-9pm.
The successful candidate will be a creative individual who is able to produce very tasty meals and can also think outside the box and add a touch of uniqueness.
The chef will have great attention to detail and plan good balanced menus, with great flavoring.
Tasks and responsibilities of the position
Menu planning
The chef is responsible for creating weekly menus in advance.
Shopping for ingredients
Preparing & cooking meals for the family
Clearing away and cleaning the kitchen
Light household duties
Ordering groceries and kitchen supplies
Plating the food and serving it to the client
Cleaning up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensuring the prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of the shift
Maintaining an inventory of kitchen supplies and restocking the kitchen cupboards and fridge/freezer as necessary
Properly storing food items at appropriate temperatures
Ensuring all produce past their sell-by dates is removed
Ad hoc errands as required.
Coordinating deliveries and maintenance visits.
Profile of the candidate sought
Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene protocols
Three years or more experience as a Chef / Cook in the restaurant industry and/or a private residence
Good communication skills
Conditions of employment
Full time, 5 days per week
