A yacht owner is seeking a Culinary Chief for their 24-meter catamaran, dedicated to private use. The individual will be tasked with the culinary preparation and oversight of food provisioning.
The role is available starting April/May (2024) Temporary contract until October with accommodation provided in a shared cabin.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance and upkeep of the cooking area (open-plan kitchen) Stock control and inventory management of food supplies Sorting and disposal of waste in an eco-friendly manner Preparation of buffet-style meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for up to 8 guests plus 3 crew members Table setting and meal service Weekly menu planning prior to setting sail Simple and healthy Mediterranean cuisine, with a focus on fish and seafood Overseeing purchases and financial record-keeping, reporting to the Captain Purchases of select luxury items (lobster, caviar, crayfish) subject to owner’s approval Collaboration with the captain and crew members
REQUIRED PROFILE At least three years of experience in a comparable role Culinary arts degree or equivalent qualification Current ENG1 certification STCW 2010 compliance An organized, self-sufficient, and proactive individual Excellent interpersonal skills Committed to service and discretion Teamwork capabilities Fluency in French and/or Italian and/or English A driver’s license is beneficial
