A private family based on Manhattan’s Upper West Side is looking for an experienced, meticulous, and self-motivated Full-Time Housekeeper to oversee the day-to-day cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of their apartment.

The household includes a 6-month-old baby girl who is primarily cared for by her mother, who stays at home. This position is dedicated to housekeeping and household management rather than childcare. The successful candidate will be comfortable working alongside a parent and willing to offer occasional light assistance with the baby when needed, without taking on nanny responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, attentive to detail, and capable of maintaining an immaculate home while anticipating the family’s needs and managing daily tasks independently.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping and household management

Maintain the apartment to a consistently high standard through daily cleaning, detailed housekeeping, dusting, and general tidying.
Manage all household laundry, including washing, ironing, folding, and changing bed linens.
Keep the kitchen clean and orderly, including dishwasher management, hand-washing delicate items, and sanitizing worktops and other surfaces.
Maintain the organization of closets, cupboards, pantry shelves, and household storage areas.
Monitor household supplies, maintain inventory, and replenish essential items when necessary.
Empty and manage household waste, recycling, and diaper bins, replacing liners as required.
Accept deliveries and packages, ensuring they are brought inside and stored appropriately.

Nursery and baby equipment

Keep the nursery, baby’s bedroom, and play areas clean, tidy, and well organized.
Clean and maintain baby-related equipment, including the stroller, diaper bag, toys, and accessories.
Wash and sterilize bottles, pacifiers, and breast pump components as needed, and clean humidifiers according to their care instructions.
Maintain a hygienic environment for the baby while keeping childcare outside the core scope of the position.

Grocery shopping, meal preparation, and errands

Assist with grocery shopping and occasional local errands related to the household.
Support basic meal preparation and ingredient preparation as needed.

Job Requirements

Professional experience: Previous experience as a private housekeeper in a high-end private residence, with strong references from former employers.
Initiative: Able to work independently, anticipate household needs, and maintain consistently high standards without close supervision.
Attention to detail: Takes pride in cleanliness, presentation, organization, and the careful handling of household belongings.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a private home with a stay-at-home parent and respecting the family’s routines and privacy.
Discretion and reliability: Demonstrates sound judgment, integrity, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Languages: Spanish proficiency is an advantage but is not essential.
Work authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Hours: 30 hours per week
Start date: Flexible

Salary

$40–$45 per hour, depending on experience
