Job Description

A private family of four in San Diego, California, is seeking an experienced and dependable Live-Out Housekeeper & Cook to take responsibility for the daily care and smooth running of their primary residence.

This is a long-term opportunity for a hands-on household professional who is equally confident maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, managing laundry and household organization, and preparing fresh, enjoyable family meals.

As the sole household staff member, the successful candidate will need to be self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities without close supervision.

The family is looking for someone seeking a stable, long-term position and who will become a trusted presence in the household.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Home Organization

Maintain the residence to an consistently high standard through daily cleaning, tidying, and periodic deep cleaning.
Clean and care for bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchen, and other household spaces.
Manage the family’s laundry from start to finish, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and appropriate garment storage.
Take particular care of clothing, linens, and household textiles according to their individual requirements.
Keep closets, storage areas, and household spaces organized and clutter-free.
Monitor household essentials and ensure cleaning products, toiletries, and other supplies are adequately stocked.

Cooking & Kitchen Support

Prepare fresh, nutritious, and appealing daily dinners for the family of four.
Assist with meal planning and organize ingredients according to the family’s preferences.
Carry out food preparation and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen throughout the day.
Keep the refrigerator, pantry, and food-storage areas organized and monitor household provisions.
Complete grocery shopping and visits to specialty food stores as required.

Household Errands

Handle regular local errands on behalf of the family, including dry cleaning, package collection, shopping, and household supply runs.
Assist with general household organization and ensure day-to-day tasks are completed efficiently.
Identify household needs proactively and address them before they become issues.
Maintain complete discretion regarding the family’s private life and home.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Several years of proven experience working as a private housekeeper, household manager, housekeeper/cook, or similar domestic professional.
Strong practical cooking skills and confidence preparing wholesome, well-presented family meals.
The ability to work independently as the sole household employee.
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
A proactive, responsible, and hands-on approach to household management.
A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
A discreet, trustworthy, respectful, and professional personality.
A genuine interest in establishing a stable, long-term working relationship with a private family.

Working Conditions

Position: Live-Out Housekeeper & Cook
Location: San Diego, California
Schedule: 24 hours per week
Hours: 6 hours per day, 4 days per week
Start Date: Flexible
Travel: No travel required
Employment: Long-term private household position
