Job Description

A private high-net-worth family is looking to appoint an experienced Head Housekeeper to oversee the daily upkeep and presentation of their newly completed estate in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.

This is a key leadership role within the household, responsible for maintaining exceptional standards across all interior spaces while ensuring the smooth organization of the housekeeping department. You will lead a team of six housekeepers, including a dedicated wardrobe and laundry specialist, and play a central role in setting and maintaining a consistent, five-star environment.

The estate includes a main residence and a guesthouse designed to accommodate large-scale gatherings of up to 100 guests, requiring a structured, detail-focused approach and strong coordination with other departments.

Responsibilities

Organize and oversee daily and weekly cleaning schedules across all areas of the residence, ensuring a consistently high standard whether the family is present or not.
Take a hands-on approach when needed, including detailed cleaning and the care of high-end finishes, delicate surfaces, artwork, and specialist materials.
Supervise all laundry and wardrobe operations in collaboration with the designated housekeeper, including linen management and guest room preparation.
Conduct regular inspections of both guest-facing and back-of-house areas, addressing any issues and coordinating maintenance follow-up.
Lead, train, and develop the housekeeping team, including performance management and cross-training to support other departments when required.
Manage inventories, supplies, and storage areas, ensuring efficient stock control and organization within allocated budgets.
Work closely with the Head Butler, Executive Chef, Security Supervisor, and Maintenance Supervisor to align schedules, coordinate deep cleaning, and support events.

Job Requirements

5 to 8+ years of experience in luxury hospitality or UHNW private households, including team leadership
Strong management skills with the ability to guide, train, and motivate a team
Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of presentation and organization
High level of discretion and professionalism at all times
Comfortable working in a structured yet evolving environment as procedures are refined

Working Conditions

Position: Head Housekeeper
Location: Private Estate, Sulaymaniyah, Iraq
Reporting to: Estate Manager
Team: Supervision of 6 Housekeepers, including a laundry/wardrobe specialist
Working Hours: Approximately 8–10 hours per day, with flexibility depending on household activity
Schedule: 6 days per week, 1 day off
Accommodation: Staff housing under development; temporary accommodation provided nearby
Benefits: Visa, medical insurance, and flight ticket included
Bonus: Performance-based structure to be introduced

Salary

Compensation will be defined based on experience, profile, and overall suitability for the role.
