Job Description

A private family based in Dubai is looking for an experienced and highly professional Close Protection Officer to provide discreet, day-to-day security for the family, with a particular focus on the wife and children.

This is a low-profile private protection position rather than a high-risk or hostile-environment assignment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while blending naturally into the family’s daily routine. A calm presence, excellent judgement and strong situational awareness will be just as important as formal security experience.

The ideal candidate will have a distinguished British military background, excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to provide effective protection without being intrusive or creating an unnecessarily security-focused atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Provide discreet personal protection primarily for the wife and children during their daily activities.
Accompany the family during local journeys, outings, appointments and travel.
Maintain a high level of situational awareness and identify potential security concerns proactively.
Conduct basic route planning, venue assessments and environmental checks as required.
Monitor entrances, surroundings and public environments while maintaining a discreet profile.
Support the family with safe and efficient movement between locations.
Respond calmly and appropriately to unexpected situations or changes in circumstances.
Maintain a professional yet approachable presence around the children.
Work collaboratively with the household team and coordinate security-related matters where appropriate.
Oversee household staff and personnel working at the property, ensuring professional standards and appropriate access procedures are maintained.
Respect the family’s privacy, routines and confidentiality at all times.
Adapt seamlessly to the family’s lifestyle while maintaining professional security standards.

Job Requirements

Previous service with the British Army, Royal Marines or another highly regarded British military unit.
Solid professional experience in close protection, personal security or a comparable protective role.
Excellent situational awareness, observation skills and sound judgement.
Calm, composed and capable of making sensible decisions under pressure.
Naturally discreet and able to operate effectively without being overly visible.
Warm, personable and approachable, with the ability to build a comfortable working relationship with the family.
Comfortable working in a private household environment and around young children.
Flexible, adaptable and willing to assist as required within the scope of the role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A valid driving licence is essential.
Impeccable standards of discretion, integrity and professionalism.

Working Conditions

Location: Dubai, UAE
Schedule: 5–6 days per week
Hours: Approximately 10–12 hours per day
Start Date: ASAP
Visa: Provided
Medical Insurance: Provided

Salary

AED 30,000–40,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.
