Job Description

A prestigious private household on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, is seeking an experienced and dependable Private Driver to provide discreet, safe and professional transportation for a VIP Emirati principal and family members.

The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for the family’s daily transportation requirements, ensuring every journey is conducted safely, efficiently and with complete discretion. The role will involve driving the principal and family members to appointments, meetings, activities and other destinations throughout Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE.

While driving will be the main focus of the position, the family is looking for someone who is flexible and service-minded and who can assist with occasional personal errands, such as collecting groceries, documents, parcels or other items.

The ideal candidate will have substantial UAE driving experience, excellent knowledge of Abu Dhabi and the country’s road network, and the professionalism required when working closely with a VIP principal. Reliability, confidentiality and a calm, courteous manner are essential.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, punctual and comfortable transportation for the principal and family members.
Drive the principal to meetings, appointments, social engagements and other destinations as required.
Transport family members safely to their daily activities and commitments when requested.
Plan journeys efficiently and demonstrate excellent knowledge of Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE.
Monitor traffic conditions and select appropriate routes to ensure smooth and timely journeys.
Keep the assigned vehicle clean, immaculate and ready for use at all times.
Conduct routine vehicle checks and promptly report or coordinate servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Collect and deliver groceries, documents, parcels and other personal items when required.
Assist with occasional household or personal errands within the scope of the role.
Follow the principal’s schedule and remain adaptable to changes in plans or timings.
Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding the principal, family, household and their movements.
Comply fully with UAE traffic regulations and maintain the highest standards of road safety.
Present a consistently professional, courteous and discreet image.
Anticipate transportation requirements and provide a reliable, service-focused approach at all times.

Job Requirements

Minimum 7 years of professional driving experience in the UAE.
Previous experience as a Private Driver, VIP Driver, Personal Driver or Executive Chauffeur is highly desirable.
Valid UAE driving licence.
Extensive knowledge of Abu Dhabi, Yas Island and major destinations throughout the UAE.
Strong awareness of local traffic conditions, routes and road regulations.
Good spoken English and the ability to understand and follow instructions accurately.
Arabic language skills are advantageous but not essential.
Impeccable standards of reliability, discretion and personal integrity.
Professional appearance, courteous manner and strong service orientation.
Calm and confident behind the wheel.
Flexible and comfortable adapting to changing schedules and requirements.
Willing to assist with occasional personal errands when requested.
Able to work independently and maintain a high standard of service without constant supervision.
Candidates with a notice period of up to one month may be considered where they have exceptional and highly relevant experience.

Working Conditions

Position: Private Driver
Location: Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Schedule: Full-time, 6 days per week
Days Off: 1 day per week
Working Hours: Flexible, according to the principal’s and family’s schedule
Accommodation: Live-in accommodation provided outside the villa; exact arrangement and location to be confirmed
Start Date: ASAP; immediate availability is preferred
Notice Period: Exceptional candidates with up to one month’s notice may be considered
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will complete a driving test/one-day trial followed by an in-person interview with the client
