Personal Chef

Personal Chef job (M/F) in Fenton, Michigan, USA

An established Ultra-High-Net-Worth family in Fenton, Michigan is seeking an accomplished and versatile Personal Chef to take full responsibility for the family’s day-to-day culinary needs.

The household comprises two parents, two high-school-aged daughters who live at home, and a college-aged daughter who is away for much of the year. As the family’s schedule and household composition can vary, the Chef must be highly adaptable and able to adjust meal planning, preparation, quantities, and timing accordingly.

The family places a strong emphasis on healthy, nutritious, and high-quality food, with a preference for meals centred around fresh vegetables, quality proteins, and carefully sourced ingredients.

The ideal candidate will combine excellent culinary skills with a strong understanding of nutrition and special dietary requirements. A warm, approachable personality is also important, as this is an interactive family environment where the Chef will work closely with the principals and their children.

  • Maintaining consistency and quality across everyday meals.

The Chef should be capable of preparing food that is nutritious, flavourful, family-friendly, and suitable for different age groups.

Menu Development & Nutrition

  • Create weekly menus based on the family’s preferences, nutritional goals, and schedule.
  • Develop balanced meals with an emphasis on quality protein, vegetables, and nutrient-dense ingredients.
  • Incorporate health-conscious and sports-oriented nutritional principles where appropriate.
  • Adapt recipes to individual dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Introduce variety while maintaining familiarity with the family’s preferred style of eating.

Ingredient Sourcing & Kitchen Management

  • Source fresh, premium-quality ingredients from trusted suppliers, local producers, and organic sources whenever possible.
  • Manage grocery shopping and food purchasing.
  • Monitor food stocks and ensure ingredients are fresh and readily available.
  • Maintain an organised and well-stocked kitchen.
  • Ensure food is stored correctly and kitchen hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
  • Keep preparation areas clean and orderly throughout the working day.

Entertaining & Special Events

Although the main focus will be the family’s daily meals, the Chef will occasionally be asked to provide culinary support for:

  • Small private gatherings.
  • Family celebrations.
  • Staff meals.
  • Business-related lunches or events.
  • Larger private functions.
  • Special occasions requiring more sophisticated menus.
  • Multi-course dinners and tasting-style experiences.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable elevating their cooking when entertaining while remaining equally confident preparing simple, healthy family meals.
