Job Description

A private family based in Saint-Tropez is seeking an accomplished Private Villa Chef to oversee daily culinary operations within a relaxed, food-focused household of 2 to 4 adults and 2 children.

This role is ideal for a creative, confident chef with a refined palate and a strong sense of presentation. The cuisine centers on elevated Mediterranean cooking with a healthy approach, enhanced by Asian-fusion influences. A deep understanding of flavours, textures, and visual presentation is essential.

The position begins as a seasonal freelance engagement for Summer 2026, with a genuine opportunity to transition into a long-term, full-time role, including travel with the family, for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Daily Service & Household Needs

  • Prepare two meals per day for the family (numbers may vary, often two adults).
  • Cook for two household staff when required.
  • Manage occasional entertaining, hosting elegant gatherings of up to eight guests.

Culinary & Operational Responsibilities

  • Create and execute daily menus aligned with the family’s preferences and dietary expectations.
  • Deliver refined Mediterranean cuisine with a health-conscious approach, alongside creative Asian-inspired dishes.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of plating and presentation.
  • Source premium, seasonal ingredients and develop relationships with local suppliers.
  • Cater private dinners and small events with discretion and efficiency.
  • Ensure strict hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation at all times.
  • Communicate clearly in English and collaborate seamlessly with the household team.

Job Requirements

  • Formal culinary training preferred; extensive experience in high-end restaurants, luxury hospitality, or private villas strongly valued.
  • Demonstrated expertise in plating, flavour balance, and creative menu design.
  • Confident working independently in a private household setting.
  • Well-organised, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic family environment.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Passionate, reliable, and committed to delivering an exceptional culinary experience.

Working Conditions

  • Start Date: June 2026 – September 2026 (Summer season), with potential to become permanent
  • Schedule: 5.5 to 6 days per week, with flexibility and respect for rest
  • Location: Saint-Tropez, France
  • Accommodation: Private, fully furnished apartment provided near the villa
  • Contract: Freelance for the season

Salary

From €6,000 per month, with strong flexibility for an outstanding chef.
